Content Ideas and Where to Find Them

Never run out of ideas ever again

If you have ever struggled to find content ideas every time you sit to write then this one is for you.

“Your content is only as good as the idea behind it.”

Sometimes you get so many ideas that it gets hard to even select 1 of them.

But sometimes you are just sitting and staring at the blank screen thinking about what to write and that is the wrong way to do it.

Here are 5 ways I get unlimited content ideas and you can too:

1. Swipe File

For those who do not know what a swipe file is: It is a file full of proven work (copywriting, ads, emails, posts) of famous brands, writers, and marketers.

I have a swipe file that I have been maintaining for years now sorted into the type of content and the niche. So whenever I need an idea I go through it and BOOM the idea clicks!

And the best part is that it is already proven to work.

2. Reddit/Quora

Reddit/Quora are hidden gems that so few people know of. I follow a few of the subreddits and the ideas there are crazy.

You will never see those ideas anywhere else and it is usually by people who have already done it. This isn’t your usual useless Facebook chatter.

3. Social Media

So whether you are using LinkedIn, Twitter (X or whatever), or even Instagram find ideas in your feed.

Now this is dependent on the quality of your feed. I like to bookmark and keep links to creators I respect in a sheet, so whenever I need ideas I visit their profiles.

If you have a swipe file that you maintain every day then you can skip this step.

4. Competitor Reviews

The best copywriters and marketers know what I am talking about.

Competitor reviews (especially the 1-star and 2-star ones) are the best places to dig for ideas.

Why? Because there you can find out the problems of your ideal client that are not being met. You can use that to create your own solution.

Now if you are a business you can visit your competitor’s website or page and if you are a creator you can visit the comment section of your competitors.

5. ChatGPT:

If you aren’t using ChatGPT for idea generation then you are really missing out on a lot. It is like the ultimate version of yourself that always uses 100% of its brain.

Here is a prompt by Dickie Bush that was captured by Luke Shalom which you can use to generate unlimited content ideas

And that is a wrap!

Let me know by replying if you have any more good idea-generating practices.
