How To Make Your Own Hook Templates

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know how crazy I am about Hook Templates.

I made an ebook with 101 Proven Hook Templates which went crazy viral on LinkedIn. You can access it here, it’s free!

A lot of the people wanted me to tell them how exactly I make these hook templates.

Today, just for my subscribers, I will explain the entire process to you guys so you never have to buy hook templates. Let’s go.

1. Getting Proven Hooks From Top Creators:

There are two ways to do this:

1. Do it the old-fashioned way, go to the profile of top creators, scroll down their posts section and find posts that did pretty well.

   Now go and copy the link, make a Notion doc, and enter the link there with the creator’s name too.

2. Download Taplio’s free Chrome Extension, go to the profile of your favorite creator, refresh LinkedIn and you will see their top posts in descending order on the right-hand side.

2. Writing the template:

Read the hook and find the words that are constant and fixed, you do not need to replace them.

Now find the words that are niche or post-specific, these are the words you can replace and then make the hook tailored to your own post.

For example: “5 Copywriting Hacks You Did Not Know (Steal this)”

Now here, “5” and “Copywriting” are niche-specific words that you can replace, here is how the template will look like:

“X [Niche/Industry] Hacks You Did Not Know (Steal this)”

3. Categorizing the template:

No one template can be for every type of post. You need to categorize your templates, then you can just select the category and pick a template whenever you need one.

I like to categorize my templates into the following categories: Storytelling, Value, Mindset, Motivational, Reality Check, Time Saving.

You can come up with your own categories.

4. Your Hooks Swipe File:

Now, repeat this over and over again and create a Notion Doc or whatever you are comfortable with. Now you will have a swipe file with unlimited hooks that you can just pull up anytime you need inspiration.

Do this every day and keep stocking up. Mine is up to 900 hook templates. (I can give it to you but it will cost a lot).

Some parting words here, remember it is not about copying others, steal like an artist, do not rip someone off and even if you make templates, give the original author credits!
